Combined Heat and Power

Baxi is engaged in a variety of micro-CHP technologies including Internal Combustion Engine, Free Piston Stirling Engine and Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell.  Internal Combustion Engine is suitable for commercial applications and offers long life and fast start up.  Free Piston Stirling Engine is more suited to domestic applications as it is reliable and has low noise characteristics.  Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell is a future technology which offers very high electrical efficiencies and low carbon emissions.

Fuel cells are currently on extensive trial within the EU.

Good to see that one of the major boiler and heating companies is finally getting serious about micro CHP. Micro CHP is clearly the next step in improving the economic and carbon efficiency of domestic heating systems, so a recognition of this by Baxi and other leading European boiler manufacturers is really welcome. If you are interested in how micro CHP works and in comparing technologies, then you could visit http://www.microchap.info/
or if you are interested in installing a micro CHP system in your own home or other building, there is more detailed product information and links to other manufacturers and information sources at http://www.microchap.info/micro_chp_products.htm
Well done Baxi, we look forward to your product launch soon!
